Progress Reports!

I just sent progress reports home! All in all, the students are doing remarkably well for the most part!
Please look the report over and sign it, then send it back with your child on Monday! I will then give it back to them and you may keep it for your files.
If there are any comments on the report, please pen them in on the report itself and I will address them as they come back to me!
Have a great weekend!
Until Next Time,
Mr. G

Back To School!

I hope you all had a great winter break and were able to spend some good quality time with family and loved ones.
It's great to be back to school as we are about to pass the halfway mark of our school year and it is always an exciting part of the year as by now the students understand the procedures and expectations and real learning can really take place.
There is one big change for the remainder of the year. We will no longer be doing the nightly planner sheets that were in the blue folders. In place of that, I am making the monthly reading calendars that are part of the PTA reading program, a mandatory assignment. Please help your child keep accurate track of his or her reading and then at the end of the month, tabulate the times read each day, sign it, then send it back to school. This program is a great program and most of the students in my class haven't been doing it and we have fallen behind in our "minutes read" goal because of it. There's still time to catch up and get the reward at the end of the year.
I would encourage all of you to continue to check on homework, other assignments, and missed assignments regularly. And please encourage your children to continue to recognize and practice the rules of the school and our classroom.
Thanks for all that you do and please contact me if you have questions or concerns.
Until next time! Mr. Garfield
